The IxCatapult is a tool which help you to simulatea wide variety of wireless nodes to fully isolate the device or system under test. The user has un-matched flexibility and control in defining complex test scenarios for both positive and negative testing.

Ixia’s IxCatapult X800 appliance is an ultra-high-scale platform for testing 3G and 4G-LTE wireless networks and devices. The X800, with a compact 2U, small footprint design, is the premier product for testing signaling and control plane interfaces of wireless devices, including subscriber databases, management entities, billing/policy systems, and controllers. These devices process a large volume of mission critical control plane traffic driven by smart phones. Subscriber authentication, application signaling, bearer establishment, and device mobility procedures generate large amounts of control plane traffic. The new X800 appliance is the ideal platform for testing these applications at extremely high scale.

The X800 runs IxCatapult and MGTS software applications, which include a comprehensive set of protocols for 2G, 3G, 4G-LTE, and SS7 – the industry’s broadest range of mobile testing protocols. IxCatapult has unmatched flexibility in customizing protocol state machines for functional, scalability, and negative testing. Users are provided with a vast library of prebuilt test scenarios, and can fully customize them to specific test applications.

The X800 supports high-port density, Gigabit Ethernet and 10 Gigabit Ethernet (GE) interfaces, and the ability to emulate virtually any device in a wireless network. This allows the appliance the capability of fully isolating a device under test.
